‘CHOP’ Review
My list of favorite movies is heavily dominated by horror/comedies. I don’t know why, but the mix of laughs with bloodshed just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. When I first heard about the latest Bloody-Disgusting Selects release, CHOP, and that it was a horror/comedy, I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into it!
I really hate when some one from my past hunts me down, kills my brother and wife, then starts to chop off my limbs for revenge! It may suck to have happen to you, but it’s sure as hell fun to watch! CHOP absolutely does deliver the laughs, gore and twists, but most important of all, something new! It was very refreshing to watch a film that is as creative as it is entertaining. No cliche horror formulas here.
Lance Reed, a seemingly innocent man, is forced by a psychotic stranger to confront his duplicitous past. The mysterious stranger, seeking retribution for a past crime, forces Lance to reveal his inner most secrets by systematically removing his limbs! As time runs out and Lance’s limb count dwindles, he must recall what he’s done to the stranger before he doesn’t have a head to remember with. Jam-packed with laughs, gore and some insane twists, CHOP is the directorial debut of DEADGIRL screenwriter Trent Haaga.
I give CHOP 4.5 out of 5 severed limbs!
